What's New in Dazzle Exhibitions
With the arrival of August, we undertake our annual trip to Edinburgh for the Festival and a month of burning the candle at both ends. We have an exciting and varied show for Edinburgh this year, including work by Edinburgh based designer, Clare Hillerby, who incorporates old stamps, postcards and written ephemera into her jewellery. We have now chosen most of the main exhibitors for our Christmas Dazzles at the National Theatre in London and the Town Hall in Manchester. We always leave places open for recent graduates and we have discovered some exciting new talents to introduce to you in our Christmas shows. Their details will be appearing on the site over the next few weeks.
We can also announce that we will again be showing original prints at our National Theatre exhibition. We have selected three printmakers, based in the South East, Pamela Hare, Jacqueline Field and Davida Smith. More information and images will appear on the website in the next few weeks.
We have now started a Dazzle blog, which we hope to develop over the coming months. Hopefully we will be able to involve some of our regular buyers and it will evolve into a useful resource and a way of keeping you up to date on what is happening in our world. So far we haven't managed to get very far with showing our collection as it all takes quite a lot of time. We will be giving some of our Festival suggestions for shows and eateries- so stay tuned.
Edinburgh Festival Dazzle 2010
Edinburgh Festival Dazzle exhibitors are now all confirmed and details are available on the site. Edinburgh is always our most enjoyable exhibition, in spite of the long hours. The Traverse programme looks as strong as ever and the Fringe looks to have some good things on offer. On the Edinburgh page on this site and the Dazzle blog we will be mentioning shows of particular interest and some of our favourite places to eat or just hang-out.
There will be exciting new designers including Yvonne Gilhooly, from Glasgow and Beth Essex, from Manchester. New to Edinburgh Dazzle this year will be Erin Daly, Claire Hillerby, Jenny Llewellyn, Kathryn Partington and Rachel Swan. We will also be showing the brooches by Clara Breen, using recycled Dazzle invitations. See the picture above.
The dates this year are 6th August to 30th August and our opening hours are 10am to Midnight, seven days a week.
