Sarah Packington : Coloured Edge Bangles

Edinburgh Festival Dazzle

Edinburgh Festival Dazzle will be one of the most colourful shows for many years, as the exhibitor list includes makers using a range of materials such as anodised aluminium, a variety of plastics and acrylic,  porcelain from Ruth Tomlinson, enamel and fabrics from Yoko Izawa, felt and wool from Anna Wales and the crushed dust jewellery of Sarah Lindsay. Claire Lowe uses tea leaves in her work.  Grainne Morton is back with her bits and bobs of ephemera.

Edinburgh Dazzle is a huge pleasure to work at.   Set in the delightful Atrium of the famous Trav (Traverse Theatre), we are open till the early hours for nearly four weeks.  Almost everyone who comes for the Fringe will hit this venue at sometime, as it shows the best and most influential serious theatre - many of the shows transfer to the West End.

Ruth Thomlinson : Flora Flora Collection Cluster Rings

The smell of delicious food wafts across from Andrew Radford’s Atrium Restaurant next door to us and we have the additional distractions of Blue, which is arguably the most popular cafe bar in town and the Traverse itself, which also serves up delicious fare almost all day at below average prices with shows starting early morning and carrying on through to beyond Midnight. Last year Mark Ravenhill served up drama and breakfast every morning.

Next door is the Usher Hall - the best venue for Classical music and the Lyceum which is part of the International Festival.

By Invitation

The first batch of invitations has now formally gone out for London and Manchester exhibitions. They look like being very exciting shows with a number of old favourites returning for both. National Theatre as with Manchester will be a seven day exhibition for the first time. In a revolutionary move, the National Theatre is planning to open on Sundays.Dazzle have again engaged Articulate Communications and PR to represent us, as we look to get lots of publicity this year.

Online Shop

We are currently moving forward plans for the Dazzle online shop and hope to have that up and running in the New Year.   We shall keep you updated as we progress with this project.
