Dazzle returns to Merchant Square

The two Private Views in Glasgow at the weekend passed off very successfully, with a good turnout and some exciting purchases. The exhibition continues until 25th April.

Work will be replaced as it is sold , so there will always be an exciting selection on show.


Designers

JANE ADAM

Jane Adam is one of Britain's leading studio jewellers. Graduated from the Royal College of Art in 1985, she has taken part in hundreds of group and solo exhibitions in Britain and abroad. In many major public and private collections, including those of the Crafts Council, London; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery; Cooper Hewitt Museum of Design, New York, USA; and Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh, USA.

AN ALLEWEIRELDT

A graduate of the Royal College of Art, An Alleweireldt won the Armourers and braziers prize for innovative work.

As a Belgian designer she has established herself in London for the last ten years, selling internationally at private exhibitions, shops and galleries.

Her jewellery is challenging, engaging and tell stories beyond appearances.

JULIE ALLISON

Edinburgh. Figurative work in precious metals. Featured in The Herald & Sunday Herald 2004. Outlets include Kalo, Glasgow, Rosie Brown & Velvet Boutique, Edinburgh.

MARIANNE ANDERSON

Glasgow. Precious metals including precious and semi-precious stones specialising in rings. Worked with top textile designer Tomoko Hayashi. Outlets include : Aaron Faber, New York; Design Yard, Dublin; Electrum, London; The Scottish Gallery, Edinburgh; Flow Gallery, London; Mobilia Gallery, Massachusetts and Orro, Glasgow.

ALAN ARDIFF

Dublin. Silver and gold. Major international name. Commissions include for "Riverdance"; Eurovision Song Contest & Dublin Regional Authority. In the collection of Billy Connolly, the Danish Embassy & Arthur Anderson. Exhibitions and outlets include Electrum, London and Rubicon Gallery, Dublin. Exhibited in Jewellery Moves, National Museums of Scotland, Edinburgh.

JAHYUN RITA BAEK

A recent Graduate from Royal College of Art, Jewellery designer and maker Rita Baek makes contemporary jewellery using plastics and polymer combine with precious metal. Light and movement of the pieces are emphasized when the jewellery is worn.

MARION BARCLAY

Glasgow. Marion combines printed anodised aluminium with silver, semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls. Outlets include Dundee Contemporary Arts, New Ashgate Gallery, Surrey & Jewel Thief Gallery, Brighton

DONNA BARRY

Edinburgh. Precious metals mainly silver. Outlets include Diana Porter, Bristol, Ruthin Craft Centre, Galerie Marzee, Nijmegen, Lesley Craze, London & Edinburgh Printmakers Gallery.

NICOLA BECCI

My work is really an exploration of decoration using many sources of inspiration, the main ones being the rich symbolism of the Catholic Church, the trappings of royalty, playing cards and chess, calligraphy and the language of symbolism. Food and confectionary are the source for some of my most recent pieces.

CLARA BREEN

Based at Cockpit studios, London. Works with found paper and silver, exploring the sentimental value attached to maps and leaflets. Outlets include: Bluecoat Display Centre, Liverpool; Gill Wing jewellery, London; Museum of Contemporary Arts shop, Chicago, USA.  Exhibitions include: Craft Case, Rochester, Kent; Craft2eu Gallery, Hamburg, Germany; Architecture centre, Bristol.
